I have been photographing weddings for 20 years. Wow, time flies! I love what I do and feel blessed that I actually get paid to do it. I started out as an art major in college and once I discovered the magic of the darkroom, I was hooked and made photography my concentration. I photographed my first wedding in 1994 with a medium format Bronica camera using rolls of film that only had 15 or 30 frames per roll. You can only imagine how often I had to change rolls. The digital era changed everything for photographers. It was a huge learning curve but so worth it. I have always photographed weddings in a "photojournalistic" style and was one of the first to do so. Some of my images on my website were shot with film. The grain in the images is real grain, not photoshopped in. With all of this came invaluable experience that I would not trade for anything. If I had it do all over again, I would choose the same path. It has been an incredible journey to work with such amazing people on such an important day in their lives. Photographing people in a true, not staged way is my passion. Capturing their authentic selves is what keeps me in love with what I do. Thank you for your interest in my work.
